This is the official website for ordering Dan E. Bailey’s book "World War II Wrecks of the Truk Lagoon" and the "Truk Lagoon Wreck Diver’s Map." Truk (now known as "Chuuk") was an important WW II Japanese naval base stronghold serving as headquarters for the Combined Fleet. This fleet functioned as the Japanese Navy’s first line of offense or defense. American military planners would refer to Truk’s importance by nicknaming it "Japan’s Pearl Harbor" and "Mid-Pacific Gibraltar."

World War II Wrecks of the Truk Lagoon is the most authoritative and complete reference on Truk including the history of the Japanese occupation, the aerial campaigns by US Navy carrier forces ("Operation Hailstone" and later attacks) against shipping, aircraft, installations and defenses, and a thorough description of the ship and aircraft wrecks. Large numbers of color images of the wrecks, war action photos, and maps/illustrations are included. The information is indispensable for planning dives on the wrecks.
